Carina Cabriales

Carina Cabriales is a 15 year old, upcoming Junior at Richmond High School. She enjoys to hang out and be in the moment with close friends. She is still indecisive of what University she wants to attend, but is sure she wants to major in biology. Upward Bounds summer program has shown her that would really want to give back to her community in the upcoming years- through public service, tutoring or any means of public service. She believes when school starts again this fall she will volunteer at the elementary’s after school program. Her current goal is to be given a platform to influence young minds while reminding them how it is possible to have a bright future no matter what background you come from. She believes that in urban areas, such as Richmond, CA, youth lack encouragement . She hopes to be able to encourage and persuade young minds.
